An essential quality characteristic of food is its origin. This applies in particular, but not only, if geographical indications exist for products. In order to avoid misleading information, the advertiser must also provide information about the origin of the food in certain cases. If the origin of the main ingredients differs from that of the food, this must also be indicated, and in a very specific way. The event uses product examples to illustrate whether and how the origin of products and their ingredients must be indicated.
